DONYI POLO RELIGION OF ARUNACHAL PRADESH - SOUTH TIBET AS PER CHINA
DONYI POLO RELIGION OF ARUNACHAL PRADESH - SOUTH TIBET AS PER CHINA
Donyi-Polo (or Donyi Polo, Donyi-Poloism) is an Animist religion, literally meaning "Sun-Moon" (where, sun is the female energy, and moon being the male). It is followed by many of the tribal groups of Arunachal Pradesh, India like the Galos, Adis, Apatanis, Nishis, Hill Miris, Mishings. The shamans conduct the rituals and make holy sacrifices to the spirits. Donyi-Poloism is derived from the worship of the Sun and Moon who are considered the eternal watch deities of the supreme almighties Bo and Bomang. These animists believe in spirit. Animal sacrifice is integral part of the rituals carried out by the Shamans with slew of bamboo crafts dedicated to propitiate the spirits. The offerings include crates of eggs, heaps of chicken livers, cauldrons of rice and home-brewed beer. Different tribes have their own way of following the Donyi-polo but the sole belief is in Sun and moon. They invoke the spirit and nature. The religion has been passed on from the ancestors with beliefs, words, practices and rituals. Donyi-Polo animists believe all people of Arunachal Pradesh share a common ancestry from Abo-Tani. The religion has no written scripture, but has traditionally been passed orally from each generation to the next. Believers pray to a number of deities for blessing, but principally worship the Sun and the Moon. Donyi-Polo includes religious rituals which coincide with lunar phases and agricultural cycles. A follower of Donyi-Polo believes in the oneness of all living ...

Welcome to Guangzhou 有没有人告诉你
Welcome to Guangzhou 有没有人告诉你
Guangzhou, the South Gate of China, is a prosperous metropolis full of vigor. Guangzhou is the capital city of Guangdong, and the center of its political, economic, scientific, educational and cultural life. Sui (Ears of Rice) is short for Guangzhou and the City of Ram (Yang Cheng) is also an alias of Guangzhou. The kapok is the city flower and the kapok tree is the city tree of Guangzhou. Guangzhou is located in the middle south of Guangdong Province, north of the Pearl River Delta. It lies close to the South China Sea, Hong Kong, and Macau. Zhujiang (The Pearl River), the third largest river of China, runs through Guangzhou and is navigable to the South China Sea. Situated in such an excellent geographical region, Guangzhou is called China's South Gate. Covering an area of 7434.4 square kilometers (2870 square miles), Guangzhou is home to more than 11 million people, including a 3.7 million transitory population. With the opening of China to the outside world, a large number of people from other regions of China swarmed into Guangzhou, one of the first 'open' cities in China. This has accelerated its economic development. Guangzhou is a famous historical city. In ancient days, Guangzhou was the capital city for three Chinese dynasties: the Nan Yue (South Yue), the Nan Han (South Han) and the Nanming (South Ming). Thus it was put in the list of the 24 most famous historical cultural cities and became a tourist destination. You can not understand most Chinese cities ...

Click here for more Tibet videos : www.youtube.com Seven years in the making, Dirk Simon's new documentary film, When The Dragon Swallowed The Sun, which is premiering on February 5th at the upcoming Santa Barbara Film Festival, shows an unprecedented inside perspective on the Tibetan community in exile, its young generation and their struggle to free their homeland Tibet. In full HD quality, this film reveals an internal conflict that has been dividing Tibetans and hindering their movement for decades. It also provides scenes from India, Beijing and Chinese occupied Lhasa (Tibet's capital) that have never been filmed before in such quality. Forty years after the beginning of the Chinese invasion, His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama compromised in the late 80s on the idea of a free Tibet and offered China the option of a genuine autonomy instead. This adjustment in approach was the beginning of a conflict that is tearing apart Tibetans inside and outside Tibet. Also, for the first time, the film introduces the only officially recognized descendant of the Great Religious Kings of Tibet. Continuing a 1400 year old lineage, 18 year old Lhagyari Trichen Namgyal Wangchuk was crowned by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama in June 2004 in Dharamsala, India. With exclusive footage from the coronation, intimate interviews and access to the family's archive material, When The Dragon Swallowed The Sun explores the struggle of a young Tibetan King alongside the peers of his generation. Sun Bears
Sun Bears
The reclusive sun bear, smallest member of the bear family, lives an insular life in the dense lowland forests of Southeast Asia. Found from southern China to eastern India and as far south as Indonesia, sun bears, also called Malayan sun bears, take their name from the bib-shaped golden or white patch on their chest, which legend says represents the rising sun. They have a stocky, muscular build, small ears, and a short muzzle, which has earned them the nickname “dog bear.” Their sleek, black coat is short to avoid overheating in the tropical weather but thick and coarse to provide protection from twigs, branches, and rain. Sun bears grow to only about half the size of an American black bear. Males, slightly larger than females, are about 5 feet (1.5 meters) in length and weigh up to 150 pounds (70 kilograms), a stature which suits their arboreal lifestyle and allows them to move easily through the trees. They have even been observed making sleeping platforms high above the ground out of branches and leaves. Ironically, sun bears are nocturnal. They lumber through the forests by night, snacking on fruits, berries, roots, insects, small birds, lizards, and rodents. They have an excellent sense of smell and extremely long claws, exceeding four inches (ten centimeters) in length, which they use to rip open trees and termite nests. They also have an almost comically long tongue for extracting honey from bee nests, giving them their other nickname, “honey bear.” Little is ...

Southern China (Guilin - Longsheng - Yangshuo)
This is a video that I made using some of the pictures that I shot during my trip to Southern China (November 2011). I visited Guilin, with its pagodas on the peaks, its nature views and its modern centre. After that I visited Longsheng, a small village located a few km from Guilin where Yao people live and where there are some nice views on rice terraces. At the end of my trip I went to Yangshuo, a touristic town (full of people coming from many parts of China) near the Li river from where it's possible to do many boat trips or explorations all around, seeing amazing nature views (peaks around the river) and some old little towns. I made my photos with my Samsung Galaxy SII mobile phone, with a Nikon D60 camera and with a Canon Powershot D10 camera. The main places you will see in this video are : Guilin: - Arriving to Guilin (00:05 -- 00:08) - Lonely Beauty Peak and Wang Cheng Palace (00:12 -- 00:46) - City Center (00:47 -- 1:05) - Sun & moon Pagoda (1:06 -- 1:08) - City Center by night (1:09 -- 1:24) - Sun & Moon Pagoda (1:32 -- 2:07) - Fuboshan Peak (2:10 -- 2:23) - City Centre (2:24 -- 2:37) - Peak and Pagodas (2:38 -- 3:07) - Mulong Hu Peak and pagodas (3:08 -- 3:26) - Sun & Moon Pagodas by night (3:30 -- 3:32) Longsheng: - Ping' an Village, Rice Terraces, Yao People (3:34 -- 5:50) Guilin: -Morning Exercises near the lake(5:55 -- 6:00) Yangshuo and surrounding areas: - Fu Li (town, market) (6:04 -- 13:27) - Li River (6:34 -- 6:45) - Fu Li (6:46 -- 7:02) - Yangshuo ...
